An EARLY NOTICE for everyone to let you know we are taking a bit of a LONGER BREAK OVER EASTER weekend this year.
We will close on Wednesday 31 March at 6pm and reopen on Wednesday 7 April at 9am.

We are so very GRATEFUL for the FANTASTIC support since last year, and this year started with a BANG!!
We could barely keep up and our booking time went from 2 weeks to 3 weeks to 4 weeks at one point!

So we need a REBOOT to be able to continue!

We wanted to introduce ourselves so you know who you will be dealing with – from left Ilse Nieman, the boss and also an artist specializing in paper cutting with an upcoming solo exhibition; Johan van Zyl, the framer and general manager, also an artist dabbling in various mediums and newly appointed as assistant framer and sales assistant is Chantelle Fourie, an art & graphic designer playing with different mediums in her spare time.

We open again for business on 11 January 2021 at 9am. Our business hours for January will be 9am to 5pm.

We will return to our normal business hours from 9am to 6pm in February.

We are closing for the holidays at 2pm on Thursday, the 24th of December (Christmas Eve) for a well deserved rest until Monday 11 January 2021 at 9am!

We are open and fully functioning in level 3. That includes custom framing!

Hours are back to normal from 9am to 6pm weekdays and 9am to 2pm Saturdays!

Due to limited functionality, we decided to update our hours. We can only function as a stationery and art retailer during level 4.

Custom framing will only continue during level 2.

We are happy to announce that we have added an after hour Pick up and Delivery to the services we offer. Also available for booking is a hanging service.

Sometimes you need a big canvas or frame and don’t have the transport for it. Or sometimes you just don’t have transport and need to have something framed or a frame delivered.

We can now pick it up from your home between 6pm and 8pm. Just call us to book it!

Rates are R75 within a 10km radius and R10 per kilometer added after that.

Join us for this Group Exhibition which will be at Artscape in September!

We call on artists to submit one artwork no bigger than 500 × 700mm, framed and ready to hang.

The exhibition will run from 6 to 18 September 2016 and the closing date for entries will be the 30th of August, with a R30 entry fee.

“Since 2006 there have been over 2000 rhinos lost to poaching in South Africa. During 2013 1004 rhino were needlessly butchered for their horns.  Over 90% of surviving rhinos are now in South Africa as the populations elsewhere in Africa and Asia have been decimated. The Kariega Foundation created a special fund after the overwhelming support when 1 cow and 2 bulls where poached in March 2012. One bul died of his injuries that night. The other two showed an incredible will to survive. They were name d Thandiswa and Themba, Xhosa names meaning courge and hope. Sadly Themba died later as a result of infection. Thandi remains fighting.  The funds raised were enough to cover Thandi and Themba’s emergency phase treatment. The fund is dedicated to the rehabilitation and care of these rhinos.”

We are doing our bit to bring awareness against Rhino poaching through joining the “My Rhino” campaign by selling the “My Rhino ” paint-it-yourself-kit. We also use mouldings by Supreme Mouldings who donate 5c of every purchase to the Anti-Rhino-Poaching Fund.

Join us by painting your own Rhino and we will put the finished product for sale on our website and on facebook.

Over the years styles of framing has come and gone, but certain classic styles have remained.  Here we show how one picture can be framed in different ways. From very simple to very formal and classic. In this way it is easier to see and choose which one fits your style .

There is nothing wrong with the paint but the tubes are a bit damaged and some of the oil leaked. At the moment there is quite a lot of different colours available, but hurry- before everyone hears about it!

LITTLE TREASURES exhibition at ART.b Gallery

This is a nice opportunity to take part in a group exhibition where the size limit is 20x20cm AND ONLY STRETCHERS ready-to-hang! Canvas available at the gallery and here at The Framed Feather & Artshopper. R 25 each.

To take part you have to be a member, but as a member you qualify for 5% discount on art supplies and 10% on framing at The Framed Feather & Artshopper . Membership is R 100 per year.  Being a member allows you to take part in many other exhibition opportunities and competitions such as Vuleka! sponsored by Conrad Theys.

Paintings will be sold for R 1500 (or less) each, but may not exceed R 1500.
